Hindi Bhajan - A Perfect Way to Attain Freedom from Stress and Anxiety

Amidst our daily hectic chores don't we aspire for some time which we can peacefully spend in absolute solace. And the best way to accomplish this desire is by listening to Hindi bhajans or devotional songs that have a unique soothing and relaxing effect on mind, body and soul. Bhajan is a lyrical glorification of deity, which is sung to convey our love to the divine. Singing bhajan and devotional songs is an age-old tradition that have its root in Samveda. The simple yet melodious lyrics and ragas have absolute soothing effect and is considered equally effective as meditation. Earlier bhajans were largely confined to temples and were sung by limited people.    


Bhajan attain its prime during bhakti movement in the 15th century with prominent names like Kabeer, Tulsidas, Meerabai, Tukaram, Naamdev, Eknath and Guru Nanak Dev of Bhakti Yuga spredaing melodies throughout the region. The joy and contentment achieved from listening bhajans is hard to explain in words. Listening and singing of bhajans have several positive implications besides offering peace and serenity. Positive vibrations of bhajans increases our energy level and relieve anxiety and its feel good effect is surely experienced by all at the time of distress. It has been found and proved in research that listening to bhajans increase the activity in the cells that releases hormone Dopamine, which is a feel good hormone.     

Bhajan has the power to open our hearts and connect us to natural state of love and this heartfelt expression induces profound states of meditation and bliss. With our mind filled with all sorts of desires, thoughts and emotions, bhajans help us redirect our mind and heart in the right direction thereby helping us in making apt decision in our day-to-day life. The soulful lyrics and rhythms of the bhajans or devotional songs have the power to free our mind from all kinds of anxieties and these also help us to calm down and stay focus on our personal and professional life. The harmonic music of Hindi bhajans allows us to imbibe the forces around us to have a spiritual experience with nature and thus connect us with our inner self.
